日本人は幕末から何を読み取るか」
（中央公論2008年１月号）に、このような記述がある。

天保14年（1843年）の幕府の収益構造は、
歳入総額154万3000両に対して、
歳出は144万5000両となっている。

一見、健全財政のように思えるが、
収入のトップを占める年貢収入が60万3700両で、
貨幣の改鋳による利益が39万4400両とある。
これは全体の25.6％を占める。

ということは、悪貨鋳造は横浜開港がきっかけとなったという
「藤村説」とは矛盾が生じることになる。

もっとも、天保で金貨を改鋳したが、それでも海外に比べれば、
質が良かったと解釈すれば、つじつまが合うが、、、、
